Job Description

Senior Project Manager II

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.

Plan and evaluate the engineering and construction elements of capital improvement projects for the overall program through subordinate supervisors.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Project Manager II: $120,000 - $140,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Senior Project Manager II Responsibilities Include:

  • Management of building and Site construction projects.
  • Project Management, including change order negotiations; cost estimating; conducting weekly progress meetings; constructability reviews; monitoring, recommending approval and/or approving contractor payment requests and performing schedule analysis.
  • Assists with identifying potential projects, writing portions of proposals, preparing for and participating in interviews, preparing cost proposals, maintaining relationships with past, current and future clients.
  • Coordinates personnel and construction activities with CNE Directors and Project Managers throughout the company.
  • Supervises the work and work product of consultants and/or related project contractors ensuring quality work products and timelines and establish design concepts and criteria for CNE construction projects.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of the design functions and construction contracts for major capital construction projects.
  • Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Prioritizing and assigning work; Planning, Organizing, Coordinating, and Providing overall direction and leadership; delegating responsibility and authority to management staff; Monitoring the budget process for major capital projects; developing effective work plans, goals, and objectives. Communicating in order to interact with co-workers to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Senior Project Manager II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 10 years increasingly responsible experience in project/construction management, with five years of experience in managing major Commercial Building and Site Development projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be extremely organized.
  • Ability to organize complex workloads, establishes and adjusts priorities, resolves issues and conflicts and accomplishes objectives within established scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Effective communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executive management, contractors, outside consultants.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction regulations and standards.
  • Must possess technical and procedural writing skills as well as excellent verbal and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
