Summary

As a Business Development Director, you will be a key driver of growth and expansion for our company. This high-impact role involves creating and executing a strategic business development plan, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and fostering strong relationships with clients. The Business Development Director plays a crucial role in achieving revenue targets, increasing market share, and enhancing the company's relationships with clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with DSV's and client's goals and objectives.
  • Identify target markets, industries, and potential clients
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prospect, research, and identify potential clients through various channels, including cold calls, networking, and market research.
  • Conduct market assessments and feasibility studies for potential clients.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline and track progress
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with Key decision makers and influencers.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their logistics needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for client inquiries and proposals.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and contracts for potential clients.
  • Lead contract negotiations and finalize agreements in line with company objectives.
  • Ensure that contracts are compliant, profitable, and sustainable.
  • Set revenue targets and sales goals for the business development team.
  • Monitor sales performance, track progress, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and other teams to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with client needs.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in account management or business development within supply chain

Skills & Competencies

Mathematical Skills

  • Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and drive profitability

Other Skills

  • Proven experience in account management and leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex account plans
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $103,500 - $155,000/ Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
